Hi, welcome to my website!

With a passion for surreal and fantastic concepts, I thrive on visual storytelling and worldbuilding.

Whether it’s for package design, concept art or illustration I find the most joy in the imaginative details that build on each other to complete a whole and unique vision.

World Building

For me, the attention to detail in world building is what makes it so special. How a character interacts with others and their environments, how their tools and weapons are a reflection of themselves and where they come from. All these connections and details intertwine to make anything within the bounds of imagination into a complex tangible world.

  • Creating characters and creatures and bringing them to life is the most rewarding aspect of concept art. Considering their identities, origin stories, preferences, and experiences, and then infusing these elements into your designs is immensely fulfilling. I love exploring all aspects of characters and how they operate in the unique world they live in.

  • The clothes they wear, the tools they wield, the belongings they carry, and even the decorations in their space are all expressions of a person's identity. Each item contributes to the character's story, adding depth and individuality. Just as much thought should be put into designing these elements as into the character itself, as they collectively shape the character's identity.

  • A world where magic flows freely, creatures roam among the trees, nightmares lurk in your daydreams, or perhaps a world ravaged by hordes of the undead. The endless possibilities and inhabitants of these realms serve as a constant source of inspiration. World-building is about bringing everything together—the characters, environments, and stories—without any limits other than imagination.

Helping Products Stand Out

Bringing the client’s vision to life using bold and unique illustrations combined with brand world building to help client’s to tell their stories their way and stand out on shelf.

  • A strong project begins with a strong moodboard. Gathering references, style, mood, and voice to express what your client is thinking early on makes the process fun and seamless along the way. Creating multiple moodboards for one project helps to explore as many directions as possible initially so that the final direction is an outcome of intention, thought, and experimentation, best fitting the client's vision.

  • Collaboration is key for successful projects. Working closely with clients to understand their brand, vision, and objectives, as well as who they are, builds a trusting relationship where creative feedback is open and thoughtful. It's also important to collaborate with consumers to understand what will resonate with them and contribute to the overall success of a product. Overall, collaboration with consumers, clients and other creatives is a powerful tool because it leverages everyone's skills, insights and utilizing that collective creativity leads to exceptional results.

  • There’s nothing more satisfying than seeing me and my client’s work on the shelf, especially when it stands out amidst the sea of bright colors, poppy logos, and advertising, all competing for attention. Over the years, I've learned that it's not just about being the brightest; it's about blending the client's vision and authentic voice with unique, handcrafted illustrations using a style chosen specifically for the product and crafted with care and precision. I believe that this passion for a project can be felt through the final product.

Illustration as Craft

Every choice I have made in my career has been driven by my love of illustration as a craft. The technical skill and thought put into each piece and making ideas come to life.

  • Need a hyper realistic avocado? A detailed etching styled landscape? A bright graphic flat character?

For me, part of being an illustrator is being able to create any style. Versatility in replicating and adapting to various art styles, allows me to effectively bring diverse visual concepts to life for any clients needs.

  • After completing my BFA and gaining five years of industry experience, I've prioritized maintaining strong foundational skills. Through continuous learning via online courses and mentorships, I deepen my understanding of color theory, shape, light, anatomy, and perspective. I rely on these foundations as the backbone of my illustrations, providing a sturdy framework from which I can explore various styles while preserving their integrity.

  • The best compliment I receive is when people describe my art as weird. I’ve learned not to be afraid to embrace that weirdness and authenticity. It adds a unique and memorable quality to artwork, setting it apart from the ordinary and predictable. My goal is to infuse my individuality into my creations and push creative boundaries as it is always easy to reign in ideas if needed.
