The Passing

Welcome to the only race that matters: The Passing.  It's a race for the very desperate, or the very insane. You'd have to be one or the other -- or maybe both -- when it's winner-take-all and it's your soul on the line.  Victory means glory and riches.  For most, losing isn't an option.

Select from a wide variety of characters and blaze through diverse and perilous tracks in this race where portions of your soul are on the line.  Escape traps and monsters, navigate treacherous cities, and discover the stories and motivations that drive each competitor to risk it all. Earn soul to increase your health and to use power-ups, but be cautious — let your soul canister drain completely and you'll be left a mindless, hollow husk. Prepare for visually stunning environments, dynamic gameplay, and a captivating storyline that pushes the boundaries of what's possible.

Start your engine. Embrace the chaos. Become a legend.

Racer 1:
Dust Bunny

Introducing Dust Bunny, the motorcycle mechanic and racer from the desolate Junkyard. With embedded skin ports and a deep understanding of vehicle mechanics, Dust Bunny commands her motorcycle, Sweetheart, with unmatched precision. She sees potential in the discarded metal and junk in her town and from it crafts dangerous weapons that she isn’t afraid to use during the race.

She carries with her at all times a grotesque amalgamation of torn-apart stuffed animals named Sparkplugs. Coming from a lonely wasteland Dust Bunny programmed Sparkplugs as a digital friend she sees in her visor, Sparkplugs helps her analyze courses, stay focussed and updates her on other players STATS.

Brace yourself for a wild ride as Dust Bunny unleashes her unpredictable nature, collecting oddities and unraveling the secrets of 'The Passing'.

Vehicle:
Sweetheart

Dust Bunny's motorcycle, Sweetheart, is more than just a vehicle—it's an extension of her identity and a reflection of her home district, the Junkyard. Sweetheart plugs directly into Dust Bunny's skin ports, allowing her to communicate with the bike intuitively and effortlessly. The motorcycle features a customized car seat for Sparkplugs as well as Dustbunny’s collection of stickers and doll heads. With her weapons and lollipops close at hand, her surround sound system blasting and her bright pink aesthetic Dust Bunny stands apart from all the other competitors.

Region:
The Junkyard

The Junkyard, Dust Bunny’s hometown and home to one of the most perilous Passing tracks, was once a quiet suburb of the sprawling city of Nexus. It is now unrecognizable as a result of the city’s overwhelming waste production and the resulting toxic atmosphere, The Junkyard has become a metal dumping site — a ghost town. Though most residents were forcibly relocated through strict cleansing government programs, a small minority fought for their right to stay.

Their descendants, the Rustborn, live among the wreckage. Some developed a natural resistance to the hazardous toxins released by the decaying waste-metal, but over time, prolonged exposure to the toxins transformed others into deranged Scavengers. These Scavengers, driven to madness, dig through scrap heaps and rip apart vehicles, replacing their body parts with rotting, metal prosthetics.

On race day, in the perilous terrain of the Junkyard, racers must navigate and evade the relentless Scavengers. Only Dust Bunny knows the tricks to surviving this landscape. She is a Rustborn, with cybernetic prosthetics that she has incorporated into her own nervous system. Sure, she’s a little unhinged, but in the Junkyard? That’s practically required.

Racer 2: Hiro

Introducing Hiro, the youngest competitor in the history of the Passing. How does he make it through alive? His focus is on speed and defense and his motivation remains unwavering even in the face of death.

Hiro doesn’t ride for fame, glory or prolonged life, he rides for the extra soul but not for him. Hiro’s last remaining relative is his 82 year old grandmother, though once full of energy even in her old age she has grown ill. The extra soul Hiro wins acts as temporary medicine for her, she goes back to her old self for months until it begins to wear off again and that’s when he knows it’s time to get back to the race. If he fails to win enough extra soul he will lose his only family and be placed back into the system which in the city of Nexus is not a friendly place to end up.

Accessories

Hiro likes a simplistic set up and his aversion to violence means he doesn’t carry weapons, he doesnt think he would be able to use them even if he had them. Instead he keeps with him his robotic pet Mushi. Mushi was Hiros first robotic project when he was just 5 years old. He was suppose to look like a grasshopper but at a young age he couldn’t quite get the shape right and he ended up looking more like a Rollie Pollie. Mushi likes to follow Hiro around emitting small beeping sounds, he doesn’t do much but the comfort he provides Hiro during his races means the world to him.

Hiro also wears a protective harness that keeps him strapped safely to his control station within the Guardian. The center of his harness glows green when the Guardian is fully operating with its defense systems strong. When this turns red however it means that the defenses have been damaged and back up systems have been deployed.

The Guardian

Hiro built the Guardian for speed and defense. A reflection of his sweet nature as he shys away from any unnecessary violence. The Guardian is essentially a 7 foot tall mechanical hamster ball made of Stilanium Carbon one of the most overlooked but strong and lightweight metal compound. He controls the Guardian from within, as the Guardian spins around him, shooting in any direction with the many jets guided by laser sensors, his control station remains stationary. He see’s the world around him through a large screen, sometimes he is able to pretend he is just in his basement playing video games when things get too dark during the race.
