Potato Babies
Here is a sculpture project based off my illustrations and creature design of potato-like creatures whose organs are harvested and eaten for nutrients in an alternative universe.
Sculpture Process
As with most my sculptures I start with a foil armature in the general shape I want to end with. Then I layer on sculpey and began to craft large forms. I begin adding details with sculpting tools and when it looks good I bake it in the oven. After this the sculpey is hardened and I am able to paint it. For this sculpture I also dug up and painted roots which are attached the its feet and I covered a small leaf in clear nail polish to preserve it which I afixed on top of its head.
